What does WYN do?
WYN Training Solutions runs small, personalised courses in Fitness and First Aid in Melbourne. We train for smaller groups of people than most other training organisations, focusing on quality of students instead of quantity.
How are you different?
Our successful training formula combines real life industry experience in a practical setting with small groups of students.
Rather than impersonal “lecture style” teaching, we focus on providing individual attention to each student to help you develop your strengths and correct any weaknesses.
Because we put more time into training our students, WYN graduates are recognised by many employers in the industry as being better qualified and more employable than other graduates.
Over 86% of our fitness graduates gain employment in the fitness industry on completion of their course. Many others go on to start their own businesses.
Why do WYN Graduates earn $100 per hour?
WYN graduates are taught how to exceed customer expectations. We provide you with the skills and confidence to charge what you are worth by the time you are finished. You will be lectured on the latest fitness information by passionate personal trainers who charge in excess of $100 per hour.
How can I afford to pay for my course?
We have several payment options to suit every situation. If you chose not to pay for the course in full, you can apply for a student loan or go onto a fortnightly payment plan.
You can also apply for AusStudy for approved courses, we suggest that you contact Centrelink to discuss your personal situation.
What if I get sick or work gets busy and I can not complete the course?
You can defer you course to a more suitable time.
What if I fail?
As a competency-based training and assessment course, you do not “pass” or “fail” at the end of the course. We assess you throughout the course, giving you constant feedback on your strengths and weaknesses. Any area that you are deemed not yet competent in can be re-assessed at a later date. Individual tutoring is also available to ensure you get the support you need in all areas.
What if I have no gym experience?
Our courses are structured in such a way that you don’t need to have spent time in a gym. Sometimes it is better if you don’t have any gym experience. You may have developed bad habits from poor trainers in the past which you then need to “unlearn”.
What if I work full time?
Courses are available part time in the evenings and weekends.
Can I swap from full time to part time?
Yes
What if the course is not for me?
We do offer a complimentary career consultation to advise you on the best options for you before committing to a course.
We take our courses seriously, and expect our students to do so. Once you commit to a course, we expect you to finish it. We only accept 16 students into each course, so you need to be sure the course is for you if you take up a spot.
How will I be assessed?
The basis of the assessment system is that you must provide evidence of your work to show that you can meet the standards.
There are many types of evidence that can be used to support your assessment. Including observation of work, observation of products, projects / assignments / case studies, oral / written questions and demonstration.
How long does the course take?
Full time course takes 8 weeks and part time course 23.
What is the different between Certificate III and IV in Fitness?
A Certificate III in Fitness is the Gym Instructor qualification. Upon completion you can register and insure yourself as a gym instructor and apply for work in a gym conducting fitness appraisals and writing programs for members. A Certificate IV in Fitness is the qualification you need to work as a personal trainer.
What is the difference between qualification and registration?
Qualification is the formal training process that leads to competency based assessment. These qualifications are recognised throughout Australia and the world.
At the end of the course, providing all requirements have been met, students will be issued with their Certificate III in Fitness or Certificate IV in Fitness.
Registration is the industry recognising the qualification. Students can register with Kinect or Fitness Australia. Registration with one of these bodies is also generally considered to be a requirement for employment in the industry.
How long does my registration last?
Registration remains valid for 2 years. During that time you must accumulate Continuing Education Credits (CECs) to keep your registration current. Your qualification is permanent, but registration requires ongoing education and personal development.
